Ella Emsheimer is a painter and illustrator living and working on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ nations.

Plagued by an insatiable desire for knowledge and an inability to keep quiet about matters of justice, which inform her illustration practice. Her work embraces symbolism, packaged into surreal compositions that play with scale and challenge socio-political narratives. She enjoys thoughtful conversations over coffee and perusing thrift shops for pretty vintage things.

Ella graduated with a BFA in Illustration from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2025.
